The arrival of rain boosted spirits at the second Crawford Angus bull sale held on-property at Tumorrama last Friday, where 33 of 37 bulls sold to a top of $12,000 and $5666 average.
The top price bull, Bgraham M338, sold to return buyer Max Crowe, Ellamatta, Coolac.
The 24-month-old by Sprys Efficient J127 had impressive estimated breeding values (EBVs) with growth figures of +108 at 600-day, +1.1 intramuscular fat and a moderate birth of +3.2.
“He suited us with his early maturity and great figures. He was great across the board,” Mr Crowe said.
Second top money of $10,000 was reached for Bgraham M34 when he was purchased by DJ Graham Family Trust, Adjungbilly,
The March 2016 drop calf weighed 876 kilograms and had a scrotal circumference of 40 centimetres, with a birth weight of +3.5, 200-day weight of +47, 400-day weight of +81, 600-day weight of +103.
DJ Graham Family Trust also purchased Bgraham M287 for $6000.
Local support was strong with Fernhill Holdings, Adjungbilly, putting together 10 bulls to top at $8000 on two occasions and average $5800.

“They are good soft cattle and it is a credit to the breeding by the Graham family over the years,” he said.
“They really suit our market knowing the Crawford herd.
“It is a great testament to the Graham family’s philosophy of breeding cattle.”
Volume buying continued throughout the sale with the Onus Family, Adjungbilly, putting together a line of three bulls to a top of $5000 averaging $4333.
The Gundagai Bee Farm, Gundagai, also brought three bulls and paid to a top of $6000 and averaged $5000.
A number of buyers purchased two bulls including Kangaroo Mountain through Elders Wagga averaging $4500, Julong Partnership, Coolac, averaging $5000 and Eulonga Pastoral, Coolac, who averaged $7000.
Speaking after the sale, Crawford Angus co-principal Luke Graham expressed delight with the strong local support and return buyers.

“I was very happy with the overall sale with the tough season we are in,” Mr Graham said.
Elders Wagga Wagga auctioneer Joe Wilks said it was a very solid sale.
He said there were plenty of bulls in the buyers’ market with quality bulls at value for money.
Elders and Landmark Wagga Wagga conducted the video sale with Joe Wilks taking the bids.
